Creation of Agriculture Insurance

The central government has set up the company Agriculture Insurance Company in order to promote a crop insurance scheme.
This pilot plan is being tried in two States (Penjab and Haryana). Apart from temperature and rainfall indexes, it introduces an innovating parameter in terms of crop quality established on the basis of the data compiled through satellite images.
