Compulsory fire insurance

The authorities are studying a bill designed to make fire insurance compulsory. Among the companies that will be submitted to this obligation, there are factories, commercial centres, governmental institutions, petrol distribution stations and health institutions.

Between 1995 and 2005, Saudi insurers have disbursed the amount of 1.83 billion SAR (487 million USD) in payments for fire claims.
