Chinese social insurance funds: premiums down 15% in 2019

The Chinese social insurance funds reported total premiums of 5 820 billion in 2019 CNY against 6 850 billion CNY in 2018, a decrease of 15.04% in one year. For its part, the total expenditure amounted to 5 410 billion CNY.

In terms of population, the three funds covered respectively 967 million inhabitants for basic old-age insurance, 205 million for unemployment insurance and 255 million insured for occupational diseases and workmen's compensation insurance.
