In the first half of 2022, the Chinese insurance market has recorded 2.8 trillion CNY (417 billion USD) in collected premiums, increasing by 5.1% compared to the same period in 2021. Paid claims grew by 3.1% to reach 776.8 billion CNY (116 billion USD) during the same period.
The overall assets totaled 26.6 trillion CNY (3.969 trillion USD) by the end of June 2022, representing a 1.8 trillion CNY (268 billion USD) growth compared to the recorded amount.
According to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the market has maintained a stable growth performance and has a strong capacity to face risks and support the country's economy.
