Aviva, cession of its activities in the United States

April 02, 2013

The British group wishes to withdraw from the life insurance market in North America. Early November, Aviva confirmed that 16 structures out of the 58 available deemed unprofitable and absorbing too much capital will be sold. Discussions with potential buyers are underway. The sale price could result in losses to the company. Despite the potential loss, the insurer is determined to part ways with its subsidiaries in order to recover the capital it needs to launch a recovery plan.
