ASR Syndicate 2454 expands into South Africa

ASR Syndicate 2454, a Lloyd's of London syndicate, has officially entered the South African insurance market.

The new underwriting team, based in Sandton, a suburb of Johannesburg, will focus on covering insurance and reinsurance risks in South Africa and neighboring countries.

Africa Specialty Risks (ASR) launched ASR Syndicate 2454 at Lloyd's in April 2024, marking it as the first Lloyd's syndicate dedicated to Africa.

Recently, ASR bolstered its underwriting teams in South Africa and has plans to expand further by recruiting additional staff in 2026.
