Aqeed.com, birth of an insurtech in the United Arab Emirates

Aqeed.com, an innovative start-up specialized in insurance, saw the light of day in the United Arab Emirates. Set up by shareholders Barents Re and EquiTrust, a company member of Choueiri Group, the insurtech is headed by Rachid Abi Nader.

The newly established company is intent on investing in technological innovation, internet of things and telematics. It now enables internet users to underwrite online motor insurance policies via an electronic platform. The scheme will soon be extended to homeowner’s and travel covers.
