AM Best has confirmed Qatar General’s ratings

Rating agency AM Best has confirmed the BBB+ financial soundness and bbb+ credit ratings of Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company S.A.Q. (QGIRC). Outlook for both ratings is positive.
AM Best has stated that the company’s risk-adjusted capitalization is solid and that its position on the local market as well as its profitability are good. QGIRC is the market’s second company. Its underwriting results attained 9.1 million USD in 2010 with a combined ratio of 81.8%.
