AM Best affirms SAA's rating

AM Best has affirmed Société Nationale d'Assurance’s (SAA) financial strength rating of “B” (Fair) and its long-term credit rating of “bb+”, with a stable outlook.

The rating agency also assigned SAA a national scale rating of “aaa.DZ” (Exceptional), making it the first insurance company in Algeria to receive this designation.

According to AM Best, the insurer has delivered satisfactory operating performance in recent years.

With a turnover of 33 billion DZD (235 million USD) in 2024, SAA has retained its position as the leader of the local insurance market.

Over the past five years, the company’s average combined ratio and average return on equity stood at 97.5% and 6.6%, respectively.
