AIG finalizes the acquisition of Validus

The American International Group has finalized the acquisition of the Validus Holdings Bermuda. Announced since January, 2018, the transaction amounts to 5.56 billion USD. It includes the reinsurance entity Re Validus, the asset manager AlphaCat, the Lloyd's syndicate Talbot, the insurer Western World and the risk manager Crop Risk Services Manager.

This operation is the largest ever carried out since the purchase of American General Corp. in 2001.
