Bakary Kamara, Africa Re's CEO has confirmed his company's interest in takaful reinsurance. The African reinsurer seems to be headed towards establishment in Qatar or in the United Arab Emirates. Africa' Re's rating has been recently revised upwards by S & P from BBB+ to A-.
