The absence of natural catastrophes in 2006 has benefited the world's fourth reinsurance group whose performance has outplayed the forecasts. The 2006 net profit is likely to reach 480 million EUR (629 million USD), that is, not the amount initially announced and which was comprised between 430 and 470 million EUR (563 and 615 million USD).
