Withdrawal of licenses for more than a hundred insurance agents and brokers

According to Mwigulu Nchemba, deputy minister of finances, 40 insurance brokers have seen their licenses withdrawn for falsification of motor tax insurance during the period 2012-2013. 80 agents are also aimed by this measure.

Several irregularities were found, on this basis, from road freight carriers linking between Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi.

The agents and brokers concerned, risk a minimum of two years imprisonment and a fine of 56 000 USD.
