Toyota launches connected motor insurance

Car maker, Toyota Motor Corporation, and Japanese insurer Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance have jointly developed a connected motor insurance. This new service is available to owners of certain series of Toyota brand smart cars.

On-board telematics technologies will inform the insurer on the driving habits of each policyholder. Good drivers will, consequently, benefit from discounts on their insurance policies.

The cover plan is due to be marketed as of January 15, 2018.
