Swiss Re Life & Health Africa becomes a composite insurance company

Swiss Re Life & Health Africa, the South African subsidiary of Swiss Re, has been approved by the South African Prudential Authority to operate as a composite insurance company.

The subsidiary that will be renamed Swiss Re Africa, can henceforth underwrite life and non-life risks.
This expansion of skills has been effective since May 1, 2018.
The new entity will be run by Thys Nieuwoudt.
