Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has reaffirmed its A+ rating with a Stable outlook for Deutsche Rück, the German reinsurance group. The company has consistently received this rating annually since 2016.
The rating applies to both of the group’s key subsidiaries: Deutsche Rückversicherung AG in Düsseldorf (Germany) and Deutsche Rückversicherung Schweiz AG in Zurich (Switzerland).
S&P’s decision reflects Deutsche Rück’s excellent capitalization, strong competitive position, and consistent financial performance.
The agency also praised the group’s internationalization strategy, which has enhanced portfolio diversification. In recent years, Deutsche Rück has expanded its property and casualty (P&C) reinsurance operations into regions including the Middle East, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.
Since 2024, the reinsurer has also begun underwriting life and health (L&H) coverage in selected countries across the Middle East and North Africa, complementing its core markets in Germany and Austria.
