Several shipwrecks following the cyclone "Gafilo"

The Samson Ferry wreck on March 7, 2004. the ship had been providing the regular connection between Anjouan (Comores) and Mahajanga (Madagascar) when it was hit by the tropical cyclone Gafilo. The toll: 117 missing. In addition to the ferry Samson, the cyclone accounts for another sea disaster. A ship belonging to the Société Somapêche (a fishing company), with 15 persons on board has sunk.
