Road crashes cost the government dearly

The Tanzanian government has disbursed approximately 1 900 billion TZS (1.1 billion USD) for road crashes during the last five years. These sums include the cost for the treatment of victims, infrastructure repair and costs pertaining to awareness-raising programs designed for the common people about road safety. To remedy to this situation, the authorities have decided to increase accident preventive measures.
