For its first year, Sahara Insurance has reported a turnover of 9 963 141 LYD (7 693 545 USD) and an after-tax net profit of 1 555 145 LYD (1 200 884 USD) in 2005. After Libya Insurance, United and African, Sahara is Libya's fourth licensed company. It started underwriting in January 2005.
