Reinsurance regulations in Canada revised

The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) has updated regulations regarding reinsurance. The review primarily concerns the following guidelines:

• Sound reinsurance practices and procedures,
• Property and casualty large insurance exposures and investment concentration.

The new regulations will come into effect on 1 January 2025.
