Qatar Re granted approval for the opening of a branch in Singapore

Qatar Re received on 3 October 2016, the approval of the Monetary Authority of Singapore for the opening of a local branch.

The new location will allow the Qatari reinsurer to develop its business and seize growth opportunities of a very dynamic market.

It is Micky Lee, head of Qatar Re's representation office in Singapore, who will run the new subsidiary.

As a reminder, Qatar Re achieved a turnover of 1.16 billion USD in 2015. It is the first reinsurer in the MENA region and 35th on the international level.
