Progression of the insurance market in 2013

The Brazilian insurance market grew by 9.9% at 198 billion BRL (84.3 billion USD) in 2013. Life insurance and reinsurance have posted remarkable growth with 26.4% and 17.5% respectively.

Non life insurance turnover increased by 11.5% compared to 2012, attaining 85 billion BRL (36 billion USD) last year. Health and pension insurance of business have also increased by 9.3% and 10.6 %.
