A nuclear pool in discussion

Efforts are underway to set up a non-governmental nuclear pool in India. The objective is to build a capacity that is able to cover an accident in one of the country's nuclear plants. GIC has recently proposed to the insurance regulatory authority, IRDA, a project based on the allocation to the pool of a percentage of the premiums received by the insurers.
