Nippon Life Insurance is in talks with the Australian bank National Australia Bank.
The Japanese life insurer wishes to acquire the bank's life business for an estimated amount between 200 and 300 billion JPY (1.6 billion to 2.4 billion USD).
If achieved, the deal would be one of the largest overseas acquisitions held by a Japanese insurer.
