Munich Re disbursed 1.1 billion EUR (1.42 billion USD) for the benefit of its shareholders

Munich Re has announced the disbursement of a dividend worth 6.25 EUR (8 USD) per share for the year 2011. The German reinsurer’s results have been strained by claims pertaining to large-scale exceptionally recurrent natural catastrophes. Munich Re wishes to achieve a net result of 2.5 billion EUR (3.1 billion USD) in 2012 after having announced 940 million USD of profit for the first quarter.
