Lebanese insurers cover COVID-19

Since the beginning of the pandemic and until 11 March 2020, only the Lebanese government was supposed to cover the hospitalization fees of patients with COVID-19.

Following that date, several insurers took the initiative to cover the risk and a government decision has subsequently bound insurance companies to cover the costs related to epidemics, including that of COVID-19.

Consequently, all new contracts underwritten or renewed after 15 April 2020 shall include this type of coverage.
