Latest toll of the losses caused by "Gafilo"

According to the latest toll of “Gafilo” hurricane which hit the northern part of Madagascar on March 7, 2004, 237 people lost their lives, 181 are missing, 895 were wounded while 304 288 were left homeless. Moreover, 87 724 dwellings are said to have been destroyed or severely damaged, along with the destruction of 32 063 ha of rice fields and other crops.
