IRDAI to launch a standard travel insurance policy

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has called on the insurers to propose a standard travel insurance policy.

The guarantee includes five coverages for domestic travel and four coverages for overseas travel. The policy is to come into effect on 1 April 2021.

The IRDAI aims to increase the penetration of travel insurance in India.
