Introducing a compulsory health insurance system

According to A.M. Best, the establishment of a compulsory health insurance system, planned for January 2018, should boost the Omani market.

This class of business, which already generates 26% of the total premium volume, is expected to see a 25% increase in its turnover in the next two years. The generalization of health insurance will have a positive impact on the entire market, which will in turn grow by 10%.

This rate is similar to the one observed in the UAE market when this obligation was introduced.
