GIC Re is setting up a natural catastrophe pool

The national reinsurer, General Insurance Corporation (GIC Re), is examining the prospect of establishing a pool dedicated to natural catastrophes, designed for African and Asian insurers and reinsurers. Named Fair natural Catastrophe Pool, this project is entrusted to GIC Re by the Federation of Afro Asian Insurers (FAIR). GIC Re will run the pool and establish its structure.
