Fukushima accident reassessed at 129 billion USD

Tepco, the company operating the Fukushima nuclear plant, has revised upwards the cost of the March 11, 2011 nuclear accident whose toll should be around 10 000 billion yen (129 billion USD), nearly the double of what was previously announced.

This amount includes decontamination costs and compensations disbursed to victims.
