Free insurance cover for autonomous cars

Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance will offer as of April 2017 free coverage for policyholders having cars equipped with an autopilot system.

This offer will be extended to vehicles with a autonomy levels 1 to 3.

Full autonomous cars (level 4) will not be covered by this insurance due to the lack of regulation on the legal liability in case of accident.
