Establishment of Compagnie d'Assurances Agricoles du Sénégal (CNAAS)

The Senegalese government and local insurers have jointly set up an insurance company specialized in the coverage of agricultural risks. CNAAS' capital is detained at 52% by private insurers. The government subsidized the written premiums up to 50% while the World Bank has provided training to part of the staff.
