Egyptian insurance market ranks 3rd in Africa

With 2.4 billion USD of premiums in 2020, the Egyptian insurance market ranks third in Africa. The first and second positions are held respectively by South Africa and Morocco.

The market includes 41 operators among which 25 non-life insurance companies and 16 life companies. It also involves large regional and global groups namely Misr Insurance, Metlife, Allianz, Axa, GIG, QNB, Canal Suez, Bupa and Delta.
