Earthquakes covers suspended

No policyholder can underwrite new policies against earthquakes in the region known as "Mid Canterbury" where the city of Christchurch is located. No insurer will sell such coverage after the earthquake of June 13. The country's largest insurer, Insurance Australia Group, plans to raise prices by 20% of these policies on the whole of New Zealand.
