Cost of Hurricane Ida as at 30 June 2022

According to the Louisiana Department of Insurance (United States), local insurance companies have received, as at 30 June 2022, 460 709 claims related to the damage caused by Hurricane Ida. The total cost of the loss amounts to 13.1 billion USD.

To date, 299 440 claims worth 9.8 billion USD have been settled by insurers.

On 29 August 2021, Louisiana was heavily affected by Hurricane Ida, classified as a Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
