The Chinese regulator to strengthen the prudential rules

The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) is to reinforce the solvency rules soon. The aim is to build strong insurance entities reliable to insured individuals.

At the close of the first quarter of 2019, the overall solvency margin of the 178 companies in the Chinese insurance market was set to 245.3%, increasing by 3.3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2018.
