Sources close to the matter have indicated that Baloise is planning to sell its Belgian life insurance portfolio, worth 1 billion EUR (1.1 billion USD).
The Swiss insurer is reportedly in talks with the Dutch ING group about a possible deal.
Discussions are said to have reached an advanced stage, and an agreement may be signed shortly.
