AXA Re will begin operations in India in September 2017

AXA Re, the reinsurer of the AXA Group, has obtained the final agreement of the Indian Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRDAI) to open a reinsurance branch in New Delhi.

The new entity will begin operations in September 2017. It will initially focus on the reinsurance of social protection programs. The license covers both life, health and damage classes of business.
