AM Best: negative outlook for the French non-life insurance market

AM Best has maintained its negative outlook for the French non-life insurance market.

The rating agency believes that French insurers are facing a number of challenges, including persistently volatile economic conditions, a sharp rise in natural catastrophe claims, inflation and rising interest rates.

These factors are only aggravating insurers' profitability, leading to fiercer competition between companies.
