Allianz to acquire German insurtech simplesurance

Allianz has acquired, through its digital investment subsidiary Allianz X, 100% of the capital of the Berlin-based insurtech simplesurance. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.

In 2016, the German group acquired a minority stake in the Berlin-based startup. In 2016, the two companies had also concluded a partnership through which simplesurance has been distributing Allianz's insurance products in 28 European countries.
