Africa Re is committed to social responsibility in Africa

African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) has committed to corporate social responsibility. It will, disburse 2% of its after-tax profits to popular initiatives on the continent.

By December 31, 2013, the reinsurer, in possession of 677.5 million USD of shareholders’ equity, reported a net profit of 84.8 million USD. Its technical profits amounted to 39 million USD while other financial products have attained 46 million USD.
