2026 Chinese life insurance market forecasts

According to GlobalData, the turnover of the Chinese life insurance market is expected to reach 4.25 trillion CNY (665.6 billion USD) in 2026, against 3.1 trillion CNY (484.4 billion USD) in 2021. The average annual growth rate is estimated at 6.3% over the period 2021-2026.

This rate would be backed by the main distribution channels of insurance products, notably through agencies and bancassurance.

The sector's development would also benefit from the ever-growing demand for personal accident and health (PA&H) policies as well as hybrid products (protection and savings).
